More than one hundred years ago, Pavel Muratov created his “Images of Italy” which had an impact on culture and worldviews of the Silver Age poets. In her exhibition, St. Petersburg-based artist and photographer Nadezhda Kuznetsova will present a series of works for a book dedicated to the memory of Muratov. The exhibition will also feature materials from the collections of the Anna Akhmatova Museum dating from the time of the poet’s journey to Italy.

The festival presents young musicians - the new creative leaders of the countries of the Baltic region. This is a living continuation of the tradition of professional interaction, communication and a manifestation of love for music. Guests of the festival will be the Lithuanian ensemble Niko and Gediminas Gelgotas, a well-known contemporary composer, conductor, pianist and one of the musical leaders of the new generation of the Baltic countries.

“ALEXANDROVSKY STYAG” 10th Youth Military History Forum

The forum is held with the aim of educating young people of patriotism based on historical examples of the heroism of the Russian army. This year the project is dedicated to the events of the Great Patriotic War and World War II (military operations, foreign policy, rear, armies and armaments, personalities). The program includes a historical quiz, a research competition, a creative competition, a military song contest and other events. On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the forum, the Organizing Committee also established a competition for the design of a new logo for the “Alexander flag”.

“CONTEMPORARY ART PROGRAM AT THE BOLSHOY DRAMA THEATER. PLYWOOD THEATER. SECOND SEASON”

Plywood theater is a dedication to artists who have worked at the Bolshoy Drama Theater since its inception. This is a theater inside the theater, a game with space, going beyond the borders of the so-called “common sense”. The central event of the second season will be a festival dedicated to the outstanding director and theorist of the theater Anatoly Vasiliev. The program includes the St. Petersburg premiere of the play “The Old Man and the Sea”, a creative meeting with Anatoly Vasiliev and the screening of the film “Donkey”, a concert and presentation of the book by composer Vladimir Martynov. At the end of the Anatoly Vasiliev festival, the Plywood Theater will host screenings of the performances of the Moscow Shadow Theater. St. Petersburg audience will also be able to see two premieres from the repertoire of the Plywood Theater last season.

“YOUNG SOLOIST - 2020” 10th Open City Competition

This year the competition is dedicated to the 250th anniversary of the birth of L. Beethoven. Young violinists and cellists of children's music schools and art schools of St. Petersburg, the Leningrad Region, as well as other cities of Russia are invited to participate. In parallel with the competition, a Creative Festival will be held, where participants will perform their work accompanied by a string ensemble.

MyFrenchFilmFestival.com is a new concept whose goal is to promote the young generation of French filmmakers, allowing Internet users around the world to share their love for French cinema. Until February 16, all films of the program are available for free viewing on the festival website. Several films can be seen on the big screen of the library of the French Institute. The shows will be held in the original language with Russian subtitles.
