Well where on earth do I begin? I consider myself to be a very well travelled person, someone who visits Europe at least annually, who cruises the Seven Seas, someone who has enjoyed the South Pacific on numerous occasions....and I can honestly say I've never had a finer experience in all my travels, than I did in St. Petersburg with Alex and his beautiful, wonderful tour guide and joyful driver (and even briefly, his stunning wife and precious daughter!)

From the minute I emailed my first enquiry to Alex, I knew that I would be in good hands if I entrusted him to take good care of my group of 16, while we spent our 2 (far too few) days in St. Petersburg. Alex answered me promptly, warmly, had fantastic suggestions for what might suit my group (very personalized itinerary), and was never bothered by my endless emails and questions. I was gobsmacked by his professionalism and his brilliance! We had many interesting emails flow between us, and by the time I landed in St. Petersburg, I felt as though I was going to be met by a friend. And I was!

On top of that, Alex set my group up with the most incredible guide, Inna, who just embraced my group, matched our craziness, laughed along with us, yet managed to teach us just the right amount of history to enthrall us (and also the odd Russian word or phrase!). We nicknamed our driver "Len", and I think he burst into laughter every time we stuck our hand out "hitchiking", or said something to make Inna blush. It was a marvelous, marvelous 2 days travelling in a very comfortable van, big enough for 16 of us with our day packs.

St. Petersburg is everything it appears to be, gorgeous palaces, unbelievable museums, art galleries, fountains.... The thing that surprised all of us was the number of canals in the city. Spectacular.

Thank you Alex. I promise to be back! We all thank you from the bottom of our hearts, for making this part of our Baltic Cruise the most unforgettable. Our love to all the girls (and Len!)
